Instructional intelligence, not just grades
ClassLens doesn't just grade papers. It tells you what your students learned and what they didn't.

See exactly which concepts your class missed -- by assignment, by period. Walk into your next lesson knowing precisely where to reteach. No spreadsheets, no guesswork.
AI grades every submission against YOUR rubric criteria, point by point. Every assignment gets a rubric. Every rubric gets enforced. Consistency your department can measure.
Paper 1 gets the same attention as paper 150. No fatigue drift, no Friday leniency. Students and parents see fair, defensible grades backed by rubric evidence.
Grades route to either Google Classroom drafts or the in-app Batch Review Dashboard for teacher review before students see them. Adjust strictness, comment style, and feedback length to match your voice.
No student data stored. Submissions are processed transiently and discarded after grading. FERPA & COPPA compliant. SOC 2 Type I attested by independent CPA. Google CASA Tier 2 security verified. CISA Secure by Design Pledge signatory.
Grade every assignment, not just essays
If a student can submit it to Google Classroom as a document, image, or PDF, ClassLens can grade it.
Typed essays, short answers, and long-form writing in Google Docs.
Photographed or scanned handwritten responses, homework, and notebook pages. The AI reads handwriting as readily as typed text.
Mixed-format submissions with paragraphs, data tables, labeled diagrams, and photos of lab setups.
Engineering drawings, orthographic sketches, and design files exported as images. Graded against criteria like dimensioning and design intent.
Hand-drawn free-body diagrams, data plots, concept maps, and annotated figures.
Assignments where a student uploads several files (a mix of docs, images, and PDFs) are graded as a single submission.
ClassLens runs on Google Cloud Vertex AI with multimodal understanding. The model reads images, handwriting, and diagrams natively.
Audio and video submission grading coming June 7th.
How it works
Three simple steps from assignment to graded feedback.
Create or Select an Assignment
Connect your Google Classroom and choose which assignments to grade. Works with any assignment type that has student submissions.
Configure Your Preferences
Set strictness level, comment style, feedback length, late work policy, and more. Your preferences are saved for future assignments.
Review and Return
Grades route to one of two teacher-controlled review modes. In Draft Only mode, grades save as drafts in Google Classroom for the teacher to release inside Classroom. In Grade & Review mode, grades route to the in-app Batch Review Dashboard for the teacher to review and release in a single batch. In both modes the teacher reviews every grade before students see it. Plus, get a knowledge gap report showing what your class struggled with most.
