ClassLens for Districts

Give your teachers their evenings back. FERPA school-official posture. No persistent student PII stored.

Why Districts Choose ClassLens

Built for the needs of district administrators who want consistent, high-quality grading across every classroom.

Consistency Across Classrooms

Every teacher grades against the same rubric with the same rigor. No variation between departments.

Reduce Teacher Burnout

Give teachers back the hours lost to grading so they can focus on instruction and student support.

Timely Student Feedback

When grades are returned promptly, families stay informed. No more 30 assignments graded the night before progress reports.

Actionable Data

Knowledge Gap Reports give administrators and teachers visibility into class-wide understanding.

FERPA School-Official Posture

Student submissions are staged transiently in a private Google Cloud Storage bucket for AI processing, then best-effort deleted with a 24-hour bucket lifecycle policy as the failsafe. While a job runs, submission metadata and per-student results sit in an encrypted Redis job cache. It is cleared once the job finishes successfully; a job that ends incomplete keeps its cache so the work is recoverable, and either way the 48-hour expiry is the outer bound. In Grade & Review mode the drafted grades and feedback wait in a separate review queue, alongside a short-lived copy of the submission files so the teacher can read them while reviewing. Neither is tied to the job: both are deleted when the teacher releases the grades, with a 24-hour expiry as the failsafe. Once a job’s results are released or expire, ClassLens deletes the submission content, grades and AI-generated feedback it held; because the staging delete is best-effort, the 24-hour bucket lifecycle policy is what bounds a failed delete rather than the first attempt always succeeding. In the two return modes the draft grade is written to the teacher’s own Google Classroom during grading; Sheets export is the alternative path, writing grades and feedback to a teacher-owned Google Sheet instead. Google Cloud Vertex AI under the Cloud DPA. AES-256-GCM on OAuth tokens. DPA-ready.

Zero Learning Curve

Native Google Classroom integration. If teachers can use Classroom, they can use ClassLens. Setup takes minutes.

District Adoption Toolkit

Two resources built for the two people who usually decide whether ClassLens gets approved: the Technology Director and the classroom teacher requesting the tool.

Security & compliance overview

The one-pager to forward to your district Tech Director or Data Privacy Officer. Covers CASA Tier 2, Google OAuth verification including the restricted Drive scope, SOC 2 Type I, FERPA posture, grading model, OAuth scopes, subprocessors, and the documents we send on request.

ClassLens

Built by a Teacher

ClassLens was built by a teacher with 22 years of classroom experience who graded thousands of assignments and felt the weight of 150 papers on the desk.

Every feature exists because a real teacher needed it. Every workflow was designed around how classrooms actually operate.
